The Manager, Casting for Universal Television will be responsible for casting and talent management, including identifying new and upcoming talent, developing relationships for potential placement on a variety of programs, and managing the relationships between the creative executives/producers and existing talent. The role will report to the EVP, Talent and Casting.
Responsibilities:
- Primarily responsible for covering/co-covering multiple projects and casting talent for Universal Television’s scripted programs
- Identify, hire, and oversee independent casting directors for each covering Universal Television project
- Work with writers, producers, talent, and studio/network executives to cast talent for pilots and current series
- Manage the flow of communication on talent matters between the studio, executive producers/showrunners, and network partners
- Develop and maintain relationships with talent agents and managers
- Attend theater performances, talent showcases, comedy clubs, and diversity & inclusion events on behalf of Universal Television in order to identify new talent
- Along with the senior-level executives, help to maintain and expand the department’s talent database
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in casting for scripted productions
- Extensive and established relationships with talent, managers, and agents
Desired Characteristics:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Previous experience in casting for television programming is preferred
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume, deadline-driven environment
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate successfully across a wide range of functional groups (e.g. Development, Business Affairs, Finance, Publicity, Marketing, and Legal)
- Established track record of successful multi-tasking, effective communication, and problem solving
- Polished with good interpersonal skills, creative sensitivity and diplomacy
- Team player who works well with others, exhibits flexibility, strategic thinker and articulate communicator

- Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, which currently requires contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Beginning January 5, 2026, hybrid employees will be required to work from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
The salary is $80,000 to $100,000/year.
