The VP, Casting will drive the execution of casting strategies for the studio’s premium scripted television content. This executive is responsible for identifying and securing top-tier and emerging talent, collaborating closely with showrunners, executive producers, and internal creative teams to ensure casting aligns with the studio’s creative vision and business objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Implement casting strategies across assigned studio projects, ensuring talent selections reflect creative vision and brand identity.
- Manage the actor approval process for all speaking roles—including series regulars, guest stars, and day players—ensuring uniformity and quality.
- Develop and manage casting budgets for pilots and series, balancing creative needs with financial constraints in partnership with senior casting leadership.
- Provide creative input on talent selection, collaborating with showrunners and creative executives on casting choices and character interpretation.
- Work cross-functionally with production, finance, and business affairs teams to align casting decisions with budgetary and scheduling considerations.
- Oversee script breakdowns and translate character descriptions into actionable casting briefs for effective talent sourcing.
- Track availability and interest of marquee talent, maintaining awareness of casting opportunities for high-profile actors within assigned projects.
- Support and guide casting associates and coordinators, providing feedback to maintain studio standards.
- Contribute to talent packaging efforts by collaborating with creative executives to attach high-profile or strategically aligned talent to projects in development.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Film, Television, Media Studies, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
- 8+ experience as a casting director or casting associate for scripted television and/or film.

The hiring salary range is $180,000 to $220,000/year.
