A+E Networks is seeking an experienced and collaborative creative executive to join the Lifetime Movie Programming team, developing movies for the global A+E brand, which includes Lifetime and LMN. The Director, Programming Lifetime will manage the development process of television movies from concept through post-production, partnering with internal departments and external partners to deliver compelling, high-quality films that align with the brands.
More About What You’ll Do:
- Oversee the entire movie development process from concept to post-production, including idea generation, script development, casting, and final cuts through delivery.
- Coordinate and manage internal and external stakeholders to ensure creative, financial, and administrative alignment.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with writers, producers, directors, agents, and talent to attract and develop high-quality projects and on-camera talent.
- Identify and explore fresh concepts, programming trends, talent partnerships, and new formats and financial partnerships that expand the network’s audience base and increase revenue, including off network.
- Collaborate with internal teams — including scheduling, casting, marketing, research, content sales, and distribution — to maximize the impact and visibility of new programming and future opportunities.
- Champion diverse voices and inclusive storytelling that build and retain viewership, broaden demographic appeal, and attract advertisers.
- Work collaboratively on both LOM and output movies to ensure synergy, creative consistency, and quality control across all budget levels.
Basic Requirements:
- 5 years of experience in movie or television programming, with at least 2 years at a Director level or higher.
- Established relationships with top-tier creative professionals, including independent producers, directors, and talent.
- Proven track record of appealing, well-produced projects that reach broad audiences.
- Strong creative and strategic thinking skills with the ability to adapt quickly to changing needs while balancing strong creative vision and business goals.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate creative direction to stakeholders across all levels.
- Self-directed, highly collaborative personality, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced demanding environment.
- High integrity, sound judgment, and enthusiasm for the Lifetime brand.
The annual pay range is $120,171 to $140,600/year.
