Film Distribution Coordinator for ARRAY

ARRAY is a film collective dedicated to the amplification of images by Black artists, people of color and women filmmakers of all kinds. We are looking for a dedicated individual with a can-do attitude to join our team as ARRAY Releasing Coordinator. Based at our Los Angeles campus in Historic Filipinotown, our Film Coordinator will work directly with the ARRAY Releasing team to coordinate the acquisition and distribution of inclusive cinema domestically and internationally. 

In this position you will be expected to:

  • Work under the direction of the President of ARRAY Releasing to realize the seamless execution of ARRAY’s acquisition and distribution of independent feature length films.
  • Maintain ARRAY’s film releasing schedule, led administrative duties, and provide updates to ARRAY Senior Executives, ARRAY team members and our internal calendars.
  • Work closely with ARRAY Marketing and Publicity on the coordination of film materials for releasing campaigns.
  • Work closely with ARRAY filmmakers to gather and organize film delivery materials.
  • Maintain the archive of film materials and marketing assets for each ARRAY film title.
  • Research potential film titles for acquisition consideration that connect to ARRAY’s mission.
  • Identify rising filmmakers, production professionals, scholars and other experts to introduce and participate in ARRAY Releasing events; participate in hosting these guests.
  • Identify partner organizations that align with film themes and ARRAY’s core mission.
  • Coordinate travel and accommodations for filmmakers and releasing guests as needed.
  • Draft run of shows and potential questions for conversation-based film releasing events.
  • Track and communicate status of film releases to filmmakers and the ARRAY team.
  • Draft text for event calendars, website, publications or other media to promote releasing events.
  • Generate post-release recap reports that illustrate the scope of each film release.
  • Maintain ongoing, active professional relationships with program partners, theatrical booking agents and key members in the film community.
  • Attend film programs and other events to network and stay abreast of happenings in the field.
  • Engage and collaborate with a wide variety of stakeholders, including internal staff, industry experts, audience members and external partners.
  • Work as part of a team to brainstorm and activate any programmatic ideas that fall under the pillar’s domain.

Qualifications:

  • Must love films and have knowledge of filmmakers of all kinds as well as the film industry.
  • A minimum of 2-4 years work experience preferably in a film festival, special events, TV/film production/studio environment.
  • Previous history of full-time work experience preferred.
  • Solid strategic planning, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, superior presentation skills, and sound judgment.
  • Passion for advocating inclusive representation of underrepresented communities in front of and behind the camera.
  • Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, creative, collaborative, and nimble environment.
  • Proactive, results oriented attack of assigned projects.
