Within Amazon MGM Studios, the Original Movies Strategy team is seeking a highly analytical and strategic thinker to join as a Content Strategy Manager in Culver City, CA. This role will focus on content strategy for Original Movies on Prime Video, including the facilitation of greenlights.
The Content Strategy Manager will work with teams across the studio including creative development, production, business affairs, finance, programming, and marketing. We are seeking a candidate who has a strong understanding of the movie business, proven analytical skills, and an ability to clearly communicate findings and recommendations. The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex problems, works effectively with cross-functional teams, and thrives in a fast-paced environment that is constantly evolving.
Key job responsibilities:
– Evaluate Original Movies being considered for greenlight
– Assess the financial and strategic considerations of various movie deal structures and release models
– Analyze Prime Video viewership data to surface insights and inform senior leadership decisions
– Author strategy documents providing recommendations on slate planning, content investments, new business models, and ‘think big’ opportunities
– Serve as a knowledge center for streaming movie performance, forecasting methodologies, and performance reporting
Basic Qualifications:
– Experience delivering results for large, cross-functional initiatives/projects
– Experience communicating complex business concepts in verbal and written form
– 4+ years of experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy, or a similar role within the media and entertainment industry
– Analytical skills, including experience using complex modeling to inform key business decisions.
– Proficiency in Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
– MBA, or Master’s degree
– Experience working in movie or television content strategy, or in a similar fast-paced, high-impact role in the media and entertainment industry
The base pay for this position ranges from $69,400/year to $148,400/year.
