Junior Creative Executive for Universal Kids Digital Studio

December 17, 2025

Universal Kids Digital Studio is a division within NBCUniversal that develops, produces, and distributes digitally native content for kids on a variety of digital platforms.

We’re seeking a Junior Creative Executive to help grow our original video content across YouTube Kids. Candidate should have a strong record of developing preschool shows specifically for YouTube and/or digital platforms. Ideally looking for someone with knowledge of animation pipelines and existing relationships with talented up and coming writers and artists; combined with a strong creative intuition, and ability to effectively oversee creatives, to deliver on time and budget. A genuine self-starter who is excited to juggle multiple development projects at once; who doesn’t shy away from the challenge of working against scrappy budgets and rushed timelines; who is excited to help create the “next big thing” natively on YouTube.

Responsibilities:

  • Brainstorm, develop and, in some cases, produce original series for YouTube Kids.
  • Familiarize yourself with company-owned IP and seek out opportunities to re-develop for a YouTube Kids audience.
  • Create pitch decks and development materials and/or hire contractors to assist in putting together necessary materials.
  • Seek out talent and assemble creative teams of artists, writers and animators to aid in development process and ultimately get shows made.
  • Explore new methods of production and technology and specifically seek to develop shows that plug into those pipelines.
  • Hustle and self-manage to always be thinking of “the next thing.”
  • Collaborate with Legal on all contracts and clearances.
  • Collaborate with Content Strategy team to identify trends and dig into analytics and infuse that knowledge back into the development process.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in developing and/or producing digital short-form content and/or traditional television shows for kids (ideally preschool).
  • Extreme knowledge of YouTube and/or social video and other digital platforms.
  • Background in art/design, animation, writing or story editing all a plus.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with relevant teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills.
  • Operate efficiently and with empathy in a dynamic work environment.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Strong passion for kids’ content and animation.
  • Flexibility and an ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, often on a scrappy budget.
  • Someone who LOVES the creative process—talking to artists, working with animators…
  • Someone who doesn’t take themselves too seriously.
  • Highly developed communication skills — both verbal and written.
  • Strong analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time and project management skills.
  • Creative thinker and self-starter.
  • ‘Can-do’ approach and ability to perform under pressure.
  • Understands and follows the latest trends in digital.

Additional Requirements:

  • Interested candidates must submit a resume/CV and portfolio online to be considered
  • Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA
  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation
  • Must have work authorization to work in the United States

This position has been designated as hybrid, which currently requires contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Beginning January 5, 2026, hybrid employees will be required to work from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.

The salary range is $80,000 to $100,000/year.
