Story Editor, Movies Creative for Amazon MGM Studios

Amazon MGM Studios is hiring a Story Editor for the Movies team. This role is the owner of script coverage and Coverage & Editorial Oversight.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and mentor Story Analysts and Readers
  • Onboard and train new readers on coverage standards
  • Assign incoming material to staff and freelance readers
  • Maintain quality control across all coverage
  • Ensure timely turnaround on priority material
  • Maintain coverage databases and archival systems

Qualifications

  • 7–10+ years in story, development, editorial, or related creative roles
  • Deep understanding of screenplay structure and storytelling craft
  • Experience managing and editing coverage
  • Excellent written communication skills

Basic Qualifications:

– 7+ years of creative executive experience
– 5+ years of series development experience
– 10+ years of unscripted development and current programming in network/studio and production company roles experience
– Experience working with other departments such as casting, production, research, PR, business and legal affairs
– Experience overseeing all creative aspects of development production and post production

Preferred Qualifications:

– Knowledge of the US media landscape
– Experience developing content that is award nominated, or from a broadcast network or streaming platform
