BAFTA is looking for a Head of Production (Freelance) to help deliver our high-profile Film, Games, Television and Television Craft awards. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, alongside our production teams to play a vital role in making sure we deliver our awards.
What you’ll do:
- Manage the team to ensure resource requirements and individual productions meet the budget brief or all awards and production projects year round
- Alongside the Exec Director hire freelance Exec producers for Craft & Games Awards
- Oversee contracting of external production company for Film and TV Awards
- Oversee the delivery of all broadcast/long form content and all other content deliverables
- Manage Production Insurance for all projects
- Sign off of all call sheet and RAs for all productions
- Oversee the delivery of the awards for International buyers
- Sign off all International content and filming requests to ensure that promos produced meet all technical and branding specifications
- Overall responsibility for budgeting for the production elements of Awards Ceremonies
What we’re looking for:
- Budgeting and financial management skills– must demonstrate experience in running production budgets
- A can do attitude, but with the ability to be pragmatic and manage the expectations of the team.
- Problem-solving skills – ability to identify and resolve complex issues
- Strong communication skills – on all levels including external stakeholders, technical crews and with all departments at BAFTA.
- Legal and rights clearance knowledge – familiarity with legal matters, including clip and usage licenses
- Health and safety knowledge – Understanding of all current health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Production experience – significant experience in content and/or television production, ideally live production experience

The position is in Soho, London. This is a 6 month freelance contract position.
The salary is circa £350/day.
