We are seeking a Head of Japan Originals, Studio (based Tokyo) to lead our transformation and creative strategy across all content areas in Japan. This creative leader will establish Amazon Studios Japan as a premier home for Japan’s top storytellers and creative talent, delivering compelling original content to our customers. The ideal candidate combines creative acumen with strong business judgment and is obsessed with local customers, bringing proven ability to manage teams across all content categories and address strategic challenges unique to the Japanese market.
Working closely with key stakeholders across Prime Video and Amazon Studios (Marketing, Operations, Business Affairs, Production, Finance), as well as external creators and talent, this leader must demonstrate clear and persuasive communication, skilled negotiation, and the ability to drive collaboration in a fast-paced environment. They must be fully versed in Japan’s entertainment landscape – from top talent relationships to industry dynamics – and able to apply this comprehensive knowledge to a global streaming platform.
