Over drinks in a Toronto bar, the gods Hermes and Apollo debate whether animals would be happier with human-level intelligence and speech, and impulsively grant these powers to a group of ordinary dogs as a real-world experiment. As the dogs awaken to time, love, power, and mortality—fracturing into rival philosophies of domination, art, faith, and manipulation, Majnoun, a black poodle, discovers that life’s meaning comes not from intelligence alone, but from belonging, love, and the certainty of an ending. |
